Document Signature

When it's time to file your tax return, your Tax Pro will need your authorization to e-file on your behalf. To make this process easy and hassle-free, we've set up an online signature tool for you. The required form is Form 8879, which your Tax Pro must have before they can submit your tax return to the IRS. By signing this form, you grant them permission to file on your behalf.

How does it work?

Your Tax Pro will upload Form 8879 to our platform, and you'll receive an email notification to sign the document. We’ll send the form to the email address linked to your account. Here’s what you can expect in the email:

Clicking on ‘View & Sign’ will take you to the signing platform, where you’ll be guided through the steps to sign Form 8879.

Sign Document

When you click on ‘Sign Now,’ you’ll have two options for your signature:

  1. Draw
  2. Type

Signature Pad

After adding your signature to the document, simply click ‘Sign Now,’ and your signature will be placed in the designated signature box.

Tax Return

By clicking ‘Save,’ you’ll successfully complete the signing process and have the option to view or export the signed document.

Save

Once your signature is complete, we’ll take care of the rest. The signed document will be uploaded back to your job, and you can view it in the Document tab. Your Tax Pro will also be notified and will have access to the signed document.

Troubleshooting

If anything goes wrong, don't worry! Your Tax Pro can upload the document again, and you’ll receive a new email to sign.
