What are my responsibilities as a provider?

Your Responsibilities as a Tax Professional on Taxfyle

Working as a tax professional within the Taxfyle platform comes with certain responsibilities and expectations. Let's explore what is expected of you as a provider and how you can ensure a smooth and successful experience for both you and your clients.

Selecting Opportunities:

In Taxfyle retail, you have the freedom to show interest in opportunities to accept based on your comfort level, the job description, and the potential earnings. If you feel that a particular job is not suitable for you, you are under no obligation to accept it. It's important to prioritize opportunities that align with your expertise and capabilities.

For Taxfyle outsourcing, you are selected to service an account based on your tax knowledge and availability. As there are a limited number of openings based on tax software licenses, tax professionals that are servicing outsourcing accounts need to be dependable to work on the returns submitted by the firm.

Clear Communication:

Once you accept a job, effective communication with the client becomes crucial. This includes staying in touch regarding their tax-related activities, clarifying any questions or concerns, and keeping them informed about the progress of their engagement. Prompt and clear communication ensures a smooth and satisfactory experience for both parties involved.

Requesting Supporting Documents:

To accurately prepare your client's tax deliverable, you may need to review and request specific supporting documents. These documents provide essential information for the completion of their tax return. Be proactive in requesting the necessary documentation from your clients and ensure that you have all the relevant information to prepare an accurate and comprehensive filing. It is asked that you provide a missing items/documents list back to the client within a 48 hour period.

Preparation and Review:

As a tax professional, your responsibility includes preparing your client's tax deliverable with accuracy and attention to detail. This involves analyzing the provided information, applying your expertise to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, and generating the necessary forms and schedules. It's crucial to review the completed deliverable for any errors or omissions before presenting it to the client for review..

Filing on Behalf of the Client (Retail Only):

Once the tax deliverable has been reviewed and accepted by the client, your responsibility extends to filing it on their behalf. This involves requesting that an E-File Authorization (Form 8879) is signed by the client, then submitting the completed return through the appropriate channels to ensure timely and accurate filing. Once the return has been accepted, you are to upload the confirmations to the job Documents. Stay updated on the filing requirements and procedures to ensure compliance and a seamless filing process for your clients.
