Encountering Additional Work: Handling Unexpected Forms and Client Onboarding
As a tax professional utilizing the Taxfyle platform, you may come across situations where there is more work to be done than initially indicated when you accepted the opportunity. This can include the need for additional forms and schedules to ensure accurate filing. Let's explore how to navigate such scenarios effectively.
Additional Forms and Schedules:
It's not uncommon to encounter situations where additional forms are required, beyond what was originally indicated in the engagement details. These forms may serve as complementary components to ensure a comprehensive tax return. In such cases, it's important to complete the tax return as required, including the necessary additional forms and schedules. The Worklayer portal has a Job Scope Change Request where you can now inform Taxfyle of any out of scope changes that need to be made. If unsure if an item is to be included, you are encouraged to contact us on our Pro Support Page.
Client Clarification:
Once the Taxfyle team has received your job scope update request, we will evaluate the validity and from there, send a client a quote for the services. Most of these services are priced out by Taxfyle. Other services may require a further discussion with the Tax Pro to evaluate the work and payout requested. Once the client has approved the additional fees, the specs and payout will be updated accordingly. Pros are NOT to quote clients directly.
Open Communication Channels:
Throughout the process, maintaining open lines of communication with the Taxfyle Pro Success team is vital. They are available to assist you in navigating unexpected forms, addressing excessive requests, and resolving any discrepancies in client onboarding. By reaching out to the team, you can ensure that the engagement proceeds smoothly and accurately.
